The first step starts with approaching to Sarathi website online https://sarathi.parivahan.gov.in/
Visit “Sarathi” website of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
An applicant must select their city from the given drop-down menu.
The applicant must be ready with the following documents required for applying for a new driving license. On the left side of the home page place your mouse cursor on the “apply now” link and click on it.
An applicant needs to select the option “New learner’s license” tab. Place your mouse cursor below it and click on it. An applicant will come across a new window which shows the documents that an applicant must need to submit.
The applicant needs to fill the “e-KYC” form as you see in the above image, for applying for a new learner’s license. Kindly check all the details and proceed. (Fill all the blocks with *asterisk marks).
Note: There are two options about holding a driving license, so in that case don’t worry, if you don’t have a driving license just click the first option.
Fill e-KYC form
A candidate needs to fill the above form “application for learner license“. Kindly review the form and proceed by click next.
Once you submitted the form, an acknowledgement will be shown on your screen, download, and save it for future reference.

In the given image, an applicant needs to submit their document in the following order.

Proof = Aadhar card / voter id card / ration card
Now browse your class 10th certificate, then confirm. To view your uploaded document visit official, the website of a parivahan and select “upload document” tab on the left.
The last step is of fees payment, submit the given amount, and select the dates when you are available for the driving test.
Note: Download the fee receipt of paid fee amount.
Document Required for Learner’s License.
- An applicant needs a set of photographs (*2).
- An applicant need to pay the application fee of 500 Rs/-
- After the verification of documents, a candidate needs will be called for learner’s license test with a fee of 50 Rs/-
- Required documents would be age proof, address proof (original) at the time of the test.

Note: If a candidate clears the learner’s license test only then he/she will be issued a learner’s license for a period of 7 days.
